About us

Meet Brian Huskey. The owner and heart of our small, locally owned company and all her delicious brands; b. Matthew's Eatery, 5 Spot, & Abe's on Lincoln. Brian began his journey in the hospitality industry with some of East Tennessee’s most iconic restaurants and hospitality groups, including The Butcher Shop Steakhouse and Stokley Hospitality Enterprises. After rising through the ranks of these independent, family-run companies, he rounded out his experience at what was one of America’s largest corporate restaurant chains, Ruby Tuesday.

In 2006, Brian decided it was time to give the restaurant industry a try on his own terms. He quit his job and took a giant leap of faith. He moved from his home in East Tennessee to Savannah with not much more than a nickel to his name and a plan to open and run a restaurant “the right way.” Putting his team members first, listening to his guests, and becoming a fully committed and involved member of the local community.

He took out a few ridiculous loans and bought b. Matthew’s Bakery. He has slowly transformed the space into what is now GLGSAV’s flagship business, and one of Savannah’s most popular restaurants, b. Matthew’s Eatery. Brian has opened eight restaurants and bars in Savannah and the surrounding areas since 2006. Some have failed, but most have flourished, helping Savannah become the world-class destination that she is today.
